A dirt bike gang is seemingly set to feature in the upcoming and much anticipated GTA 6 videogame, according to its first trailer.
While gaming media has been focused on many of the features revealed in the new Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer - such as the series’ return to Vice City, its inclusion of a female playable character for the first time in decades, and its apparently much-expanded wildlife system over its 10-year-old predecessor - we at Visordown are much more focused on one thing.
That, of course, is motorcycles. All we really know so far about motorcycles in GTA 6 is, firstly, that they exist in the game (as they have done since the original Vice City), and, secondly, that the game will seemingly involve a dirt bike gang in some capacity.
The degree to which the player will interact with these ‘Dirt-Bike Dirt-Bags’, as they are tagged by the GTA universe’s news channel, Weazel News, in the trailer, is ultimately unclear at this point, as are many details about the game - after all, the trailer was all of 90 seconds long. But we do know that they are there, and that they appear to generate the same kind of presence in the lower-income areas of Vice City as real-life equivalents are accused of generating in places around the UK.
Official GTA 6 Trailer - Grand Theft Auto dirt bikes revealed!
GTA 5 released back in 2013, and received very few updates to its motorcycle roster in comparison to the more-or-less constant four-wheeled updates in the last 10 years or so. That means that the bike line-up in GTA 6 should be a pretty big step compared to what GTA 5 ended with, since production bikes have evolved just a little bit in that period.
For example, 2013 was the second year of production of the Ducati 1199 Panigale, and the flagship sports bike of GTA 5 was the Pegassi Bati 801 RR which was based on the Panigale’s predecessor, the Ducati 1098. Presumably, GTA 6 will be basing its motorcycles on the bikes of now, meaning we can probably expect wings and such - although, hoping for an accurate recreation of electronic suspension might be a bit of a stretch.
Rockstar Games, the GTA series’ developer, was kind enough to announce a period of time in which we might expect GTA 6 to drop, with the game expected to launch in 2025 on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, meaning no PC version at launch and no previous generation console versions.
