Do you have a typical Sunday morning routine?
Perhaps it has you watching a talk-cum-cookery show vowing ‘definitely make that’ before getting McDonalds, sleeping your alcohol-punished head all the way through to the PM or getting up at the crack of dawn to head out for a crisp day of Sunday riding.
For us it’s probably a combination of all three - somehow wedged into the same day - plus, of course, the Sunday papers… or rather ‘rustling’ your phone as you take on your fix of lazy news.
That’s all well and good but - and I say this knowing full well this is literally what I do for a living - reading can be sooooo 2020. It’s far too quiet as well.
So why not liven up your Sunday morning (or Saturday, or Monday… or commute or evening in fact) by heading over to the Visordown YouTube channel, a veritable Netflix of motorcycles with a smorgasbord of two-wheeled goodies in audio-visual format.
We’ve been particularly busy lately; we’ve been out to Spain to test the new Yamaha R7, traversed Scotland on a trio of 500cc Hondas and even journeyed from Lands End to John O’Groats with Triumph because… well, because it’s fun?
If your hard-earned lazy morning prevents you from the taps it would take to get over to the Visordown YouTube channel, you can CLICK HERE, or scroll down to watch a selection of embedded top picks from the past few weeks.
LeJoG on the Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro and Rally Pro
At a time when continental motorcycle touring has a few more added complications beyond deciding when to factor in your pee breaks, we kept it within these borders for a wending jaunt stretching from the southernmost tip of the UK right to the top.
Some run it, some cycle it… but motorcycling it is way more enjoyable and forgiving on the belly. More so when you get to catch up with Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton and rugby union player George North along the way. Check out how Toad and Alex got on across our four episodes.
Yamaha R7 Review + Comparison to Aprilia RS 660
Having dropped the axe on the R6 - in roadgoing trim at least - Yamaha has plugged the hole left in the firm’s mid-weight sportsbike range with the R7, a milder and better value take on the formula.
That said, it is still a Yamaha sportsbike with a ‘R’eputation to uphold so we hit the track in Jerez and on the roads of Andalusia to find out if it deserves to stand among such legends.
Watched that? Happy? Great… now find out how the R7 stacks up compared with our current favourite midweight sportsbike, the Aprilia RS 660.
Honda CBR500R, Honda CB500X, Honda CB500F - REVIEW
When you can’t choose between a small or a large engine, you go down the middle. And this is where you’ll find Honda’s 500cc trio providing a bit from column A and a bit from column B across three different bodystyles.
We tested the updated 2022 range to find out if they provide the very best of both worlds or if it’s a straddle too far for one motorcycle (or three) to muster.
Suzuki GSX-S1000 GT - FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Don’t call it a rebrand! This is Suzuki’s new Sports Tourer, which nestles more neatly alongside the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX with a bold new styling direction, improved practicality and promising excellent value. We got our cold, wet hands on it this week for the first time, and this is what we thought.
