A provisional calendar for the 2024 British Superbikes season has been released, with BSB set to start at the Navarra circuit in Spain next year.

The Circuito de Navarra was bought in November of last year by Motor Sport Vision, the promoter of British Superbikes, and evidently the promoter has decided it is the right place to open the 2024 season. Exactly how the British fans of the championship will make their presence known in Navarra on 20-21 April is unclear, but there will be tickets available for purchase and the race will be included in the MSV Two Wheel Season Pass.

The whole meeting at Navarra will be somewhat odd, as the track will also host a four-day test - the second and final test of the 2024 preseason after on 6-7 April - in the week before the race on 16-19 April. This means all the riders should be fully up to speed with the circuit’s high-speed turn one and following, never-ending combination of first-gear turns, by the end of the two-day race meeting.

After Navarra, the season returns to more familiar surroundings at Oulton Park on the May Bank Holiday weekend. Two weeks later, Donington hosts the first of two races on its GP layout, with the National variant seemingly now totally out of favour having been cut from this year’s schedule, too.
The first Donington race is the last one of the pre-road-race-season races, with a one-month break following for BSB as its road racing contingent heads to (hopefully) the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.

Knockhill kicks off the resumption of the BSB season in the middle of June, before Snetterton and Brands Hatch feature in July.

The Thruxton round will take place in August, before Cadwell Park once again takes its place on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Assuming this year’s ‘Showdown’ format is retained, its first round will take place back at Oulton Park, before Donington Park GP’s and Brands Hatch GP’s second respective rounds close out the season by mid-October.
