With the recent introduction of the Panigale V2 to the range, Ducati has upped the spec of their existing Panigale V4 and V4S. The modifications made to the two motorcycles bring them even closer to the race-ready Panigale V4R.
The refinements are designed to:
“Make for an easier, more user-friendly, less fatiguing ride while simultaneously making the bike faster - not just on individual laps but over entire timed sessions”.
The main changes come in to form of a V4R spec aerodynamics package, which provides better stability and airflow protection [for the rider], and Ducati Corse designed stiffer front frame design - which improves feel at extreme angles.
Also, the new ‘predictive’ control strategy - linked to the six axis IMU - improves the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2 out-of-the-corner power management; Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, by shortening up-shift times, allowing sportier high-rev gear shifts (over 10,000 rpm), and boosts shift stability during aggressive acceleration and cornering.
Other electronic improvements to the V4 and V4S include a specifically developed Ride by Wire system mappings with several torque delivery control settings.

Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES) EVO
The front frame is pilfered straight from the V4R, but it's been machined slightly to meet SBK flex and weight requirements. The suspension is firmer and 4mm lower at the front [2mm at the rear] than before, which has increased the motorcycles' centre of gravity by 5mm. The final result is a more flickable and balanced track weapon.
