Rev’It has launched a new one-piece suit, as the Rev’It Paramount GTX looks to the adventure-touring sector with its waterproof design.
The biggest feature of the Rev’It Paramount GTX is a combination of two, really. Its weatherproofing is combined with its one-piece design to ensure maximum, unbroken protection from the elements thanks to the elimination of the gap between a traditional jacket-and-trousers setup.
The ‘GTX’ is probably a clue to the suit’s construction, which is comprised of 3L Gore-Tex and “technology carried over from the world of drysuit diving,” Rev’It says. That takes care of the waterproofing, then, while a full-length Tizip MasterSeal zipper aims to offer the least possible compromise to that.
Perspiration, as well as precipitation, has been considered, too, with VCS|AquaDefence waterproof ventilation utilised in combination with “several tactically positioned ventilation zippers,” Rev’It says.
Rev’It calls the Paramount GTX’s design “unconventional”, but that does not prevent it from carrying out the basic need of motorcycle clothing, in particular that relating to safety and impact protection. CE-level 2 protectors are placed on the back, shoulders, elbows, and knees, while Rev'It’s CE-level 1 SeeSmart armour is on the hips. There are also stretch panels, and fitment adjustability.
Available only in the colour ‘Dark Blue’, the Rev’It Paramount GTX is available in three lengths, all with their own sizing options. The standard length is available in sizes S-3XL, the short length in L-2XL, and the long length in sizes M-XL. Whichever length and size is chosen, the cost in the UK is £1,599.99.
